WHAT IF?

This is a great article written by a very precious woman of God. Let’s ask God for bigger dreams and believe for bigger things.

Our lives/His Purposes-Ruthie's Impressions

These small words “What if”  can lead you down two different paths. The negative path leads to worry and anxiety. What if I have cancer? What if we can’t pay the bills? What if? Nevertheless, God! He is always the answer to that What if.

However, there is a positive side to the “What if?” question. What ifyou dared to dream!

“We have the power to create the world we want to see every day.” - Maggie Doyne“We have the power to create the world we want to see every day.” – Maggie Doyne

Take Maggie Doyne. At age 19 she and a friend decided to backpack for a year before attending college. While visiting Nepal, a young girl caught Maggie’s eye. She discovered that for just $10 this young girl could buy a uniform and go to school. So Maggie gave her the money and the little girl was able to go to school. But Maggie didn’t stop there. Loving without Limitations

Love is a wonderful thing. Yet, it can be a frustrating thing. When you are loved, it’s the greatest feeling in the world. When you have been hurt by someone you love, it’s one of the greatest hurts known to man. The Bible gives us a wonderful description of love in 1 Corinthians 13.  True love comes without limitations.  God’s love comes without limitations.  God loves us without putting any conditions upon us.  He loved us before we ever did anything right or wrong.  I aspire to love like He loves.

Repentance to God’s love

As we continue our look at some of our misunderstandings of God, I want toImage take a look at repentance.  Repentance for most Christians means to tell God how sorry one is for their sins.  We have equated repentance to sorrow.  While it is true that godly sorrow leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10), being sorry doesn’t necessarily bring forth change.  Being sorry is simply an emotional response.  True repentance is a change of mind.  One thing that we need to repent of (i.e. change our minds about) is the fact that God is love and He is for humanity and not against humanity.  If most of your prayer time is “forgive me” and “I am so sorry” then something is wrong with your relationship with Father and you misunderstand Him.  I know because a lot of my prayer times used to be about me begging for forgiveness.

The Bible-less Christian (guest blog)

Nicole Cottrell from Modern Reject wrote a great blog called The Bible-less Christian.  It’s a great thought-provoking post. Bible I find too many Christians worship the Bible and put it on the same level as the Trinity.  Now please don’t shoot me for what I just said.  I love the Bible.  For years I read the Bible trying to figure out what God wanted and how to become a better Christian.  I have discovered that the Bible is meant to point me to Jesus.  Every book of the Bible is to point me to Jesus.  It’s all about Jesus.  I worship Jesus, not the Bible.  I use the Bible to teach me about Jesus.

The point that Nicole makes is this….what if we didn’t have the Bible?  Read it and give it some thought.

Immanuel — God with us (part one)

There have been plenty of times in my life when I felt that God didn’t understand me and my struggles.  How could He, I reasoned, as He is God and I am a human that deals with sin and weakness.  Not to mention, that I was raised to believe that God nearly demanded my perfection and anything less caused Him to be disappointed in me.  But I have come to a greater understanding of God’s grace and mercy in the last couple of years.  And it all starts with a simple name that was given to Jesus…Immanuel, God with us.
